Community

Two common narratives among parents in the public schools: we send our children to school for education and there is nothing else we should worry about unless we are told so versus participating in my children’s school and get involved as much as my time and energy permit like what my parents and grandparents did when I grew up back in the days. The divide is obvious, and difficult to overcome. Through the community lens, where can we find the common ground that stays true to all of us and our children that closes the gap on our narratives? I hope my blog helps us find a new way looking at the school community and decide the best way to show up at our children's school for our kids, more importantly for ourselves.
