When giving career advice, experts often encourage people to follow their passion instead of "make money first, then follow your passion or dreams." There are a few reasons for this:
Motivation fades without passion – working solely for money can be draining, especially when facing challenges. The lack of purpose and love makes it less sustainable.
Potential for regret of time trap – Working for something that doesn't lead to the ultimate goal wastes time and energy – something we can't buy with money.
Focus on the means, not the end – there is a time when means can justify the ends, but this isn't one of them. A fulfilled life doesn't come from financial success alone.
So, instead of making money first, we follow our calling straight ahead.
When it comes to our children, we choose to speak up for them - but rather than saving schools, we can spend our time and energy helping our kids thrive!
I'm launching my first-ever workshop for parents based on my book, What Is School For? A Manifesto for Parents, in August. Details will be announced in the following weeks.
