How do we know what kind of work that matters? There are at least two things to consider:
Is it useful for others to do things they care about? For example, a helpful book opens windows and doors for us to do things we care about and support our work and life.
Does it solve a problem? For example, a school that offers real learning opportunities effectively unlocks most students' common struggle in motivation and ownership towards their studying.
When we experience work that matters, we soon realize we'll miss it if it's gone.
