I am revisiting Seth Godin’s blog: 1,000 fans (which sort?) because I have an essential lesson to learn.
There seems to be a fork in the road ahead of every business owner, but the road is simple: choosing to support people who are generous enough to support us.
The word “support” means: they get what we are doing; they see the intention; they align with our journey; instead of arguing what we haven’t done better and are lacking, they step up and choose to do what they can to help; they are empathic; and they are forgiving (extending the grace to things we tried but didn’t work).
In many ways, it isn’t the business owners who grow the business, but the clear mission and systems in place that draw team members and fans to grow with us together.
Keep seeking your true fans (don’t give up!) as they are the people we seek to serve.
