All roads lead to Rome, as the old saying goes. But not all roads work the same.
Pushing back is a way to go when closing schools means unfulfilling a promise by the system.
Returning to the status quo is a way to fall back on. Keeping everything the same creates an illusion of certainty and predictability. But that's rarely true.
Heraclitus said, "The only constant is change". And a change we can make is to reset our expectations for a better system.
