Expectation is often because of assumption and judgment: this is what should happen.
The thought of “should” occurs might be: one – based on our understanding of people and things (can be very different from what’s really happening), two – we have unmet needs.
When things don’t happen the way we expect, one thing we can always count on is to adjust and adapt. Instead of wondering what’s wrong with people and things, we put time and effort into figuring out what we desire to happen and making the change to improve. Get clarity and be creative.
Turning expectations into an opportunity for learning and growth is an effective way to move forward.
