Time and money are the two most valuable things to parents, said the New York City mayor. To give parents back what matters most, the city partnered with the Department of Parks and Recreation and launched a "Parents' Night Out" event in five neighborhoods.
Parents could register their children and drop them off at a community center for various activities, free of charge, for four hours. The mayor explained that this was to support parents with young children, who often struggle to find time for themselves.
This is equally true when it comes to how society can help parents show up and support kids, such as in school settings.
When we create learning opportunities for parents, we should focus on effective collaboration and make the most of our time together.
By providing support and resources for parents, we have a better chance to explore opportunities.
Time and money shouldn't be limited only to services like Parent’s Night Out. Instead, we can use our imagination to strengthen and empower parents, so they have ways to contribute to building a better society for future generations.
