Our brains are primed to scan danger and threats. We are born with this capability to survive. When being in a new environment, sensing hostility or something off, we switch to the alert mode and stay in there till safety returns. But often we enter the alert mode unconsciously.
Because of the unconsciousness, it’s possible that we have been under stress for far too long, and eventually, it has taken a toll on our bodies.
The survival instinct is meant to protect us from danger instead of harming us.
Recognizing the survival consciousness can be helpful: Is this a real danger? Or do I need to relax and find joy? If we know how our bodies truly feel, we can figure out strategies and bring self-connection to the center.
