Cheating is not new. It has been around as long as the existence of human beings, maybe.
Making things up, producing knockoff products, faking test scores, credentials and personal background, and putting one’s name on someone else’s work are all considered cheating.
It’s easy to focus on the immediate gain and not to think about the price that’s paid for doing so. Many people believe that cheating is costly because it ruins the trust in the interpersonal relationships, but the heavy price goes beyond that.
It costs the trust of self.
When we can’t trust ourselves, it’s challenging to imagine any possibilities ahead of us.
