the learning energy

Learning has never been more critical. With the massive and frequent changes that happen every day, learning and adapting have become the norm.

Those of us who started to experience and understand real learning in adulthood often face two struggles: getting used to things not working—failures, and embracing learning energy at any given time.

Just like how challenging it is to face failure when we are trained to seek success all the time, switching our energy from certainty to vulnerability in learning feels the same. In addition to learning new concepts, information, and skills, we must also ground our energy in learning with less certainty. Walking with both legs is needed but also overwhelming, sometimes.

Knowing that managing and grounding our learning energy and muscle is a skill gives us hope to practice and improve.

I can't help but wish our children had a chance to learn and practice these skills at an early age. It's one reason why real learning is needed in our schools.
