the big picture

"The big picture" was the phrase often used to remind leaders, executives, and managers to consider the greater purpose of their work.

Not anymore.

Instead of reserving the phrase for the top and middle-tier management, it's a necessary lens for everyone, including children.

The big picture helps us learn about relationships. Not just focus on the individual but on the siblings, parents, and friends at school.

The big picture is about the words we choose to say and consider their impact on others.

It's about actions we take and the consequences to the collective.  

When we lose the big picture and are stuck in competition and winning, everyone is hurt.

What's the point of winning the battle when we have lost the war?
