There are significant differences between the two.
Teaching focuses on communicating information, and whether it lands well on the receiving end or how it lands isn’t in the scope of work. Online videos are more about teaching.
Coaching, on the other hand, is mainly about working with people: who they are, what they care about, what motivates them, etc., etc. Coaching often includes teaching, but not vice versa.
The point of understanding the differences between these two skills isn’t about determining which one is good or bad, but what works better to achieve the goal.
To support people on their learning journey, we need both.
