Steps and skills are two different things. Showing someone the sequence of actions—first, second, and third—can be helpful, but it's not necessarily the best way to introduce a skill. Instead, think about which skill sand why it's important for people to learn them, as a focused and effective way to teach.
The fixed steps are one way to learn and practice the skill. However, understanding the skill opens up various approaches that allow people to do what makes the most sense for them.
Teach a skill. Not steps.
