slow down

Here are signs that warn us to slow down: misreading messages from other people, being triggered easily, and feeling the urgency in our bodies to say, do, and react. There is no room to consider people around us.

For high performers, slowing down is frustrating. “What a waste of time”, we thought. “I have so much to do”. “I need to finish that project”. “my children need me”, etc. The to-do lists and goals keep growing…

Continuing our full schedule with self-disconnection and an empty empathy tank is an option. Another option is to stop, rest, and show up with a better self.

When we are present and empathic, that’s time well spent.
