saboteurs

The first time I heard this term was from my coach, Stacy. Saboteurs are our habitual ways of working against ourselves and undermining the work we do. We do this because of various reasons, and one of them is fear. For me, it was the fear of losing control.

My excessive need to control the process and outcome led to decisions and actions that drove people away and suffocated the process, working against what I set out to achieve from the start.

Slowly, but surely, I got to see my fear and the reason behind the saboteurs: my limiting belief about myself. That was the first time I realized that I was afraid of my own power and tried very hard to sabotage everything I did.

When I understood that, I started to let go of control. Instead of drilling down to every single detail, I learn to trust, especially myself.

Once I learned to trust myself, I began to trust the people around me, the environment, and the things we built together.

When you try really hard to get somewhere but find yourself spinning, look for your saboteurs.
