quality education

Quality education is a term we often hear when we ask the school system to provide. However, very few people can articulate what quality education means.

To some, it means sufficient funding that allows schools to do things they want.

To some, it means fancy buildings and sports fields.

To some, it looks like various programs and learning opportunities.

To some, it looks like happy students and life-long learners.

It turns out that quality education has nothing to do with any of the above but with the standards schools have set up to meet. When measuring students through standardized tests is the only way to measure quality, schools that meet the required pass rate satisfy the status.

If we want a different kind of quality, instead of looking at the results, we need to look into the specs.
