In the mission statement, we often see what the school is about.
For example, one says: We prepare the next generation to thrive with purpose and contribute to a better future for us all.
Another says: We prepare the next generation to succeed in college and impact communities.
While both sound good, jobs remain the primary goal for schools with these mission statements. When someone has the guts to claim that their school is here to accomplish something else, it's worth noting.
One says, "We equip every student to lead a fulfilled life."
As jobs continue to change, even disappear, can we finally agree on what the school is here for?
