positive peer pressure

There are two kinds of pressure among peers: one is pressuring others to comply and fit in, while the other is to help – help others to get in the practice groove so they can get over the beginner’s hump.

Peer pressure makes people do things so they don’t stand out, while positive peer pressure is about encouraging and connecting with others to help them get better at something.

In the adult learning environment, positive peer pressure is proven to be more effective in producing better learning outcomes than negative pressure, such as comparing or shaming. When people care for and support each other, we can truly focus on learning things that matter to us.
