perfection vs. keep trying

Seeking perfection is like idolizing someone. We hang on to the expectations instead of appreciation. Putting people on a pedestal leads to disappointment because we make mistakes and have shortcomings.

Instead of seeking perfection in ourselves and others, we can ground ourselves in connection. What we share in common is how we choose to account for in showing up, keeping the promise,  and contributing to the greater community as our imperfect selves.

Trying to make things work isn’t always easy, and it is driven by learning about selves, the subject of matter, and the combination of the two rather than making things perfect.

My book, What Is School For? A Manifesto for Parents is a result of learning. If you have read it, please leave a review to share. Thank you!
