not working

The dialogue over the counter lasted for 20 minutes at the pharmacy in the local hospital. It caught everyone's attention not only because the line grew longer but their voices were getting louder and louder.

The provider said, “I've never seen this medicine been used this way. You will need to ask your doctor for these questions” over and over. The patient wasn't happy with the answer and kept asking the same questions.

The communication wasn't working.

Eventually the patient got tired of hearing the same thing without getting anywhere, she chose to end it with appreciation.

Repeating the same answers isn't the only way to communicate. Accepting it's not working offers more empathy towards self and the other for a change. Until then, things unlikely will get any better.
