In Nonviolent Communication practice, we practice letting go of the attachment to an outcome. It’s easier said than done. Because when there is an outcome, we can’t help but anticipate and expect.
Attaching to an outcome of action, interaction, and decision often disappoints. The higher the stake, the more it hurts. Having a compassionate view and practice helps. Instead of focusing on the outcome, we focus on our effort by grounding ourselves in the doing. When things are not working or progressing, we get up and try again.
Building resilience means trying rather than hanging on the outcome with the fear of hearing “no”.
