information vs. useful information

There is a lot of information floating around. This is especially true when there is a movement, advocacy agenda, and a point of view to support. Getting information can help. But what's even more helpful is to have useful information.

Useful information has little to do with information but what is right for the situation, the goal, and the purpose of doing.

Without understanding what we use the information for, information will remain as data and numbers. Underestimating the need to clarify the core problem we are solving is one of the main reasons for wasting time and human power in projects.

Figure out the problem first; then, we'll find out what's useful to use and address the issue. Not the other way around.
