Brené Brown talks about this concept: the arena. It’s the place where we live by getting our butts kicked, daring ourselves, and risking things that are valuable but still taking the leap.
The baseball players have their wins and losses from every ball they throw, hit, and run. The game is theirs. All that the audiences get from watching outside the arena is emotional ups and downs, and the meaning we make out of them. The experiences of watching a game is never the same as playing one.
It’s easy to sit on the audience seat and shout out the opinions. But if we want our voice to be truly heard, we have a higher chance to do that by being in the arena.
Choose carefully.
