It’s the movie based on the book with the same name by Dr. Seuss.
Dr. Seuss posed the question in the story: what is Christmas for?
The Grinch thought it came from the store and was about having presents.
The mayor thought it was the time of celebrating the status and power hierarchy.
Cindy Lou Who wanted it to be for everyone because "nobody should be alone for Christmas".
In the end, the Grinch changed. So was Who-ville.
To me, it’s more of a story about changing culture, but two things can be helpful if we want to make personal changes:
Make a decision on which way to go. Cindy Lou had a dream that was in conflict with the reality. Either she needed to step up and turn her dream into a new reality, or gave up so she and her family could fit in. Making that decision is the first step to change.
Find the others. Despite the confusion, it was the Whos that aligned with Cindy Lou supported the change for Christmas and the culture in Who-ville. Accompaniment is one of the key reasons that big life changes happen for real.
Merry Christmas!
