When someone signs up for a class because they are curious, eager to challenge themselves to learn, and commit to show up and do things that might not work, it's easy to believe that they are here to do what we want.
But nothing could be further from the truth. Instead of telling people to go where we think they should go, we are here to lead and support them to travel on their paths:
Establish clear expectations to foster certainty throughout the journey.
Share information and tools to help people set their own goals, learn, practice, and repeat.
Create connections among people so they can further support and learn from one another, both within the class and outside.
Encourage, validate, and inspire people to let them know that we are here to support them at every step.
It's easy to believe that enrollment ends when the class is over, but when we shift our lens to view the enrollment as an opportunity to join people's learning journey, it changes the way we see ourselves and how we can contribute.
Enrollment goes both ways.
