elitism vs. remarkableness

It’s a status-versus-results question.

Have you seen a small boutique store that tried to look luxurious, exclusive, expensive, but very few paid a visit or actually bought anything? The retail space changed hands from owner to owner.

On the contrary, the scruffy-looking restaurant down the street has a line that wraps around the corner of the building and keeps growing.

It's a choice to act exclusively and pretend to be better.

Or, actually, remarkable that it serves people.
