creativity is a practice

So is compliance.

‍

When managing a large number of students in a school, following orders is a must to maintain order and efficiency. While compliance is important, it does have its drawbacks. It often suppresses initiative, requiring individuals to set aside personal preferences, opinions, and desires to support collective efforts.

‍

In contrast, creativity lets us express our genuine selves; an opportunity invites us to explore ideas that may not work and focus on what we can make instead of judging whether an idea will work. This is where we can push the edges of what's possible.

‍

Schools that value creativity should invest more effort in understanding that creativity, like compliance, is a practice. To set students up for success, we create conditions that introduce and nurture creative skills.
