Not being able to connect to the desired audiences is a fear in many of us.
A couple of reasons might contribute to this fear: we think the connection window is small and quick (we only have this one shot, and we better not screw up), and we are afraid that we don’t understand the audience enough or even wrong.
No wonder it’s not working. There is so much pressure in such a short time.
Connection requires time and effort. Instead of thinking it should happen quickly and easily, having a perspective closer to what it is will help.
Connection is about nuances and details. It happens because we see others and feel that we are seen, and we know others and feel that we are known by them, too. When we start to see how our connection works with family, friends, and even strangers, we’ll see what it takes for connection to happen.
After all, what marketing does is connect us.
