When we are emotionally triggered, we often feel overwhelmed. Communicatingemotions triggers more emotions, especially when the others are overwhelmed aswell.
In exchanging emotions, nobody wins. We see blames, anger, frustration andresentment instead. We are disconnected with self, and each other. Before weare able to connect with the others, it’s important to have the alonespace and connect with self.
Supporting self with empathy is an effective way to shift our focus from the other people back to self. Taking care of self and being responsible for our own feelings is the important first step towards connection.
