They are two different things.
The task is a detailed game that might have little to do with direction. It helps to have listed tasks for each project. When we check off the list, we can assume that we have done our best to fulfill the steps on project completion.
But commitment is an entirely different game. It is the practice of repeatedly honing in on the project's purpose: what is the project for? And how does it fit into the big picture we draw? Commitment has less to do with tasks but more with what drives us to stick to them at the spiritual level, keep us on track, and even pause and re-evaluate as we go.
By choosing tasks over commitment, we risk moving away from the goal without even realizing it.
