Is it better to understand the war before choosing our battle, or is it better to insist on the battle without seeing the war?
“What’s it for?” and “Who is it for?” are the guides, so we learn to see the bigger picture.
When we insist on fighting for the obvious because it’s right in front of us, we’d better brace ourselves for what's next. A short-term win for some can create long-term harm for the collective.
The alternative is:
Win the battle. Win the war.
