There are at least two kinds of stories we tell ourselves about change.
One is past-looking. I don't like to make a change because it means I was wrong and I am not good enough. Change isn't a good idea.
The other is forward-looking. I tried it, and it didn't work. Changing how I think about it is a must because then I'll have a chance to try a different way and improve.
It's obvious which story helps. But the hard part is realizing which story we have been telling ourselves.
