Wheel throwing can be fun once you have learned how to do it.
There is a beginner’s hump like everything else we learn. For people who are crafty and good with their hands, the hump is generally smaller. For people who are not natural with clay or making, the hump might be more prominent.
Instead of thinking that clay is the only thing we are handling, there are three parts to throwing. There is us. There is a wheel and speed. And there is clay.
The key is to get all three to work together. Figuring out a formula that works for you is how you get over the hump.
