It’s nearly impossible to identify true concerns without empathy.
The reason that we are confused about self-righteousness as righteousness is that we offer little empathy towards others. It doesn’t matter what others must have experienced and gone through. Our personal likes and dislikes are the sole measurement of whether something is right or wrong; a reason drives us to speak up.
When we haven’t learned empathy and practiced it to understand others, what we speak up about might be just our opinions, instead of a true concern that requires change.
